How To Build Your First Robot | Fringe Festival

How To Build Your First Robot is an imagined version of picket-fence 1960’s American society in which a lonely scientist who, due to a malfunctioning rocket, becomes unemployed. Inspired by the burgeoning space race, he then designs a robot he hopes might help the United States reach the moon. It was performed during the Dublin Fringe Festival and without dialogue, so the production uses only sound effects generated by the two actors.

It was written alongside Ian Toner and was nominated for a coffee based award - which it didn’t win.

Thank you to Sarah Finlay and Ger Adlum for bringing it to life.
